Reliance Retail plans Cola and other FMCG Brands

RIL promoted, Reliance Retail Limited which slipped its Diwali launch is now expected to go live in the next 2-3 weeks. The Meswani brothers who messed up the launch plan are out and Manoj Modi is the new chief of Reliance Retail.Relliance model is simple, embrace the Chinese. I really hope, they won't dump the seconds from chinese markets.
Reliance Insiders have unveield the following blueprint for Reliance Retail.
- Each store to vary in size from 3,000-15,000 sft depending on the city or town. Much smaller than Pantaloon Retail India Limited's Big Bazaar.
- Sourcing of goods from China, Thailand and Vietnam. Includes food and persihable items like fruits and vegetables as well.
- Reliance Retail has plans to launch its own COLA to compete directly with Coke and Pepsi.
- Who cares if Kishore Biyani is the master franchisee for Starbucks in India ? Reliance Retail plans to launch private label brands in other product categories like tea, foods, dairy products, biscuits and cosmetics.
- Their is lot of consumer demand and trust in private label brands which has led Reliance retail to think this way.

To overcome opposition, Reliance should create markets for its retail operations. One way is to go into housing development or join up with housing developers. Allocate space for malls, schools, transport terminals, petrol stations etc. within the housing developments. Small retailers will then have no role in this kind of markets and will have no reason to oppose.

iam santosh from hyderabad..i had visited reliance fresh when it startede newly in hyderabad and recently too.. i had abserved there is very good improvements taken place in these years...at this time i want to say one more thing also..i saw friuts
and vegetables keping for days although they r dried and store keeping is not at the level people required..pls take care of it..

I sometimes back visited Reliance Fresh at Seawoods. To my horror there were cold drink cans with the expiry date over. I immediately brought it to the notice of the person handling the main counter who first just took that can out and sat again. On my repeated insistence he discussed the issue with some other persons and reluctantly (as i kept looking at all of them) withdrew all the expired cans.. That was enough to demotivate me to visit your retail shop again. But when i told this incidence to one of my friends, she shared the same view about reliance fresh but was awsomely critical that why i did not bring the issue to Mr Mukesh Ambani or to News Papers thrugh Letter to Editor. That was the point i made up my mind to write and tell you first. If you take some actions to save your own largely built reputation in the market thats good or else i would share my findings with Public at large through the second option she proposed...

Dear sir,
I wish Reliance Retail very best of luck for the launching of its own cola brand in India. Indian cola market are very competitive, but only world two known giant are fighting to each other.They are making huge profit, but what I think before launching of the brand you should launch some sample, or you have to take customer opinion on the taste and ingredient of the product by giving them free sample.
