Dabur Ready to Cook Foods Foray

Dabur India Ltd is all set to foray into Ready to Cook food products. The product line will be pure vegetarian.

Dabur Foods, CEO, Amit Burman said,
Ready to cook food has better potential that Ready to eat food. Indian women want some kind of involvelemtn in kitchen and hence this approach by the company.

Dabur is currently the market leader in the packaged fruit juice segement in India with a marketshare of 54%.

The ready to cook food segment is likely to wtiness more than 50% growth in the next few years and Dabur wants a big pie of this market. Retail sales per ticket in supermarts have already doubled from Rs200-Rs250 to Rs500 in the last 2 years. Dabur has tied up with Big Bazaar, FoodWorld, Suniksha and Nilgiris to stock its ready to cook food items. Other major players in the Ready t Eat category are Kohinoor Basmati, ITC, MTR and Haldirams.
