Biyani to launch HomeTown Stores

Saturday, February 03, 2007

Kishore Biyani founder of Pantaloon Retail India Ltd will very soon launch "Hometown" chain of retail stores. Hometown will cater to all your home needs - Furniture, Lighting, Plumbing, Masonry and other home decor things.

The first HomeTown store will be opened in Bangalore / Bengaluru, Kishore Biyani's favorite city for retailing which is so far untouched by Mukesh Ambani :) Biyani expects to open 9 such stores and the total store area under HomeTown to be 1 Million sft. Future Group will invest Rs 200 crore in Hometown stores.

Insiders have said that Biyani was in talks with Ansals, Unitech and other Real Estate Developers to be a tier-1 supplier for them. However, Biyani's Future Group lacks transparency like any other Marwari family business and is shady about what comes under the listed entity of Pantaloon Retail Ltd.

It would be great if Bhiyani and his Big Bazar team improve their pathetic customer service before launching any new ventures
