Trent - Westside Slow Expansion Plans

At a time when all the retailers in India are buoyant and announcing expansions as if the entire India will Queue behind to shop in Retail Stores and Malls, Tata group controlled Trent just a while ago told us that they have gradual expansion planned for Westside retail chain.

Mr. Farrokh, Director, said,

We will add 4 to 5 Westside stores in this FY and increase the floor space to 330,000 sft. Westside will setup two stores of 24,000 sft in Pune, two stores in Hyderabad and one in Navi Mumbai.

The company will also add 175,000 sft to its Star India Bazaar hypermarket retail chain. Exuberant Real estate prices have hurt the company's growth plans.
